How to create a universe

چکیده
The purpose of this paper is (i) to expound the specification of a universe, according to those parts of mathematical physics which have been experimentally and observationally verified in our own universe; and (ii) to expound the possible means of creating a universe in the laboratory. 1 Universe specification According to modern mathematical theoretical physics, the specification of a physical universe can be broken down into the following: 1. Specify a space-time. 2. Specify a set of gauge fields. 3. Specify a set of elementary particles, and partition them into a finite number of generations. 4. Specify the strengths of the gauge fields. 5. Specify the couplings between the gauge fields and the elementary particles. 6. Specify the direct (‘Yukawa’) couplings between elementary particles. 7. Specify the mixing between the elementary particles in different generations. 8. Specify cosmological parameters corresponding to the initial conditions for the universe. This list is based upon the understanding gleaned from general relativistic cosmology and the standard model of particle physics, the latter being an application of quantum field theory. Both these theories are empirically verified. I do not intend to consider how one might define a physical universe according to speculative theories such as string theory or supersymmetry. Note also that these specifications are not necessarily independent; for example, the parameters

Story Telling as Planning and Learning
The generation of extended plots for melodramatic fiction is an interesting task for Artificial Intelligence research, one that requires the application of generalization techniques to carry out fully. UNIVERSE is a story-telling program that uses plan-like units, "plot fragments", to generate plot outlines. By using a rich library of plot fragments and a well-developed set of characters, UNIVE...
متن کاملExplaining the Role of Geometry and Imagination in Creation of Unique Architectures
A In this article the role of geometry and its interaction with imagination in creating the unique architectural will be explained. From long time ago philosophers and prominents have referred to important role that imagination and geometry have in the creation of universe. All over the universe, the emergence of geometry at beginning of creation is undeniable. Geometry with its manifestation a...
متن کاملThe Shape and Topology of the Universe
What is the shape of the Universe? Is it curved or flat, finite or infinite ? Is space “wrapped around” to create ghost images of faraway cosmic sources? We review how tessellations allow to build multiply-connected 3D Riemannian spaces useful for cosmology. We discuss more particularly the proposal of a finite, positively curved, dodecahedral space for explaining some puzzling features of the ...
متن کاملNoether Symmetry in f(T) Theory at the anisotropic universe
As it is well known, symmetry plays a crucial role in the theoretical physics. On other hand, the Noether symmetry is a useful procedure to select models motivated at a fundamental level, and to discover the exact solution to the given lagrangian. In this work, Noether symmetry in f(T) theory on a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type I universe is considered. We discuss the Lagran...
متن کاملGod: the Next Version
items “unreal” leaves out something important. I have suggested that God is, at bottom, one of these abstract objects. You can be a skeptic about the traditional picture of God as a quasi-material, ghostly being, and still believe the idea of God I presented in this book. 3. There can be a God even if no one created the universe. If God is the supremely good being, then there could be a God eve...
